MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, two unidentified gunmen opened fire at the Bardo museum in the capital city of Tunis, killing 17 foreign tourists, a Tunisian citizen and a police officer.
Both attackers were also killed by security forces during the siege.
Social network users have been posting pictures of themselves holding posters that read "I will come to Tunisia this summer" to express their support for the country.
Large crowds of local citizens took to the streets of central Tunis Wednesday night. The attack has been condemned by the United Nations in a statement.
The campaign echoes the similar #JeSuisCharlie outpouring of public empathy, when the international community reacted to a January gun attack on the office of Charlie Hebdo newspaper in Paris, which left 11 people dead and as many injured.
