MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The deadly shooting in Sweden's second largest city of Gothenburg that occurred earlier in the day most likely was gang-related, not an act of terrorism, a spokesman for the local police told Sputnik Thursday.
Earlier, police reported that several gunmen armed with automatic rifles killed two people and wounded several others in an attack on a bar late on Wednesday.
"We think more that they were members of the criminal gang," Peter Adlersson said.
According to him, there are several gangs operating in the Gothenburg area.
"Two last years we have problems with criminal gangs. There are a couple of criminal gangs in the Goteborg area, sometimes they shoot each other."
Adlersson also named drugs as a likely reason behind the incident.
Police do not have any suspects, and are looking for the shooters.
