MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to French parliamentarian Christophe Castaner, cited by the France Info radio station, one of the plane's flight recorders has been found.
"One of the black boxes from the plane has been found," French parliamentarian Christophe Castaner, who is currently near the crash site said, as quoted by the France Info radio station.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve confirmed that one of the black boxes had been found adding that it would be "immediately examined" by investigators.
German airline Lufthansa said that the air crash was an accident and any other theory of the tragedy's reason was "speculation", Heike Birlenbach, Vice President Sales and Services Europe, said during a press conference at a Barcelona airport.
Castaner said via Twitter that the airplane was totally destroyed and nothing but debris and bodies were at the Airbus A320 crash site.
Germany's ambassador to France and French Interior Minister Cazeneuve were on the crash site as well, he added.
Germanwings Airbus A320, carrying 144 passengers and 6 crew members, was heading from Barcelona to Dusseldorf when it crashed in the French Alps.
David Galtier, the head of gendarmerie of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, said that there are no signs of survivors in the plane crash as quoted by Haute-Provence Info media outlet.
According to President Francois Hollande, victims of the plane crash were mainly German, Spanish and Turkish nationals. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said German, French and Spanish authorities had agreed to jointly investigate the crash Airbus A320 passenger plane in southern France.
Following the crash, local media reported that movements had been observed in the debris, meaning someone could have survived the crash. France's Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said, however, that the chances of finding survivors were little.
France's Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety has launched a safety investigation into the crash, the bureau's spokesperson told Sputnik earlier in the day adding that it was too early to give any detailed information concerning the incident.
