The leader of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) Haines Christian Strache urged not to consider Russia an aggressor and rather pay attention to the activities of the US and the EU, the German newspaper “Die Presse” reports.
Strache sharply criticized European sanctions against Russia, saying that because of them, "the Austrian economy will bear at least one billion euros losses". The most affected sectors are reportedly trade, tourism and agriculture.
The politician also stressed that NGOs financed from abroad played a major role during the events on Maidan, adding that the change of power in Kiev was unconstitutional. He also argued that "American" hawks "and some strategists pour oil into the fire and said that the current circumstances raise possibility for the potential break out of World War III.”
