Israeli Ambassador to Russia Dorit Golender said he saw the "Iranian trace" in the Yemeni crisis, however, did not provide any evidence.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Israeli authorities blamed Iran over the ongoing crisis in Yemen, Israeli Ambassador to Russia Dorit Golender said Thursday.

Saudi Airstrikes in Yemen Contrary to Int'l Law, Violate Sovereignty - Iran
"We certainly see the Iranian trace in all of this and are following how it all unfolds," Golender told RIA Novosti.

The Houthi militants took control of large areas of Yemen in 2014 and forced President Hadi and his government to resign in late January.

Hadi was under house arrest in Sanaa before he fled to the southern port city of Aden in February, where he quickly disavowed his resignation.

On Wednesday, a Saudi Arabia-led coalition launched a military operation against the Houthi militia, who are fighting forces loyal to ousted Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Several other nations, including Bahrain, Qatar and Egypt, are participating in the Saudi-led airstrikes, which have killed at least 65 people in the country's capital of Sanaa, according to reports.

Saudi Arabia is reportedly using some 100 fighter jets and 150,000 personnel in the operation, which has received tacit support from the United Kingdom and Turkey.
