LAUSANNE (Sputnik) — Tehran hopes a draft agreement on the country's nuclear program will be finalized on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.
"I hope that we can finalize the work on Wednesday and hopefully start drafting tomorrow," he told reporters.
Tuesday was the self-imposed deadline for reaching a framework agreement ensuring the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program. However, the parties agreed to shift the terms.
Further talks have been postponed until Wednesday morning. The negotiations will resume at 7:30 a.m. Moscow time (03:30 GMT) on the experts’ level. Later in the day, Tehran will also join the parley.
Iran and P5+1 countries, comprising Russia, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, should first reach a political framework agreement and then move to finalizing a long-term comprehensive deal.
