SANAA, April 1 (Sputnik) – Yemen is currently experiencing violent clashes between the Houthi militant group, the country’s main opposition force, and forces loyal to the current president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who fled the country amid the hostilities.
“Yemeni government forces and several tribal sheikhs escorted the delegations to their destinations in Rihadh, Saudi Arabia,” the source said.
On Tuesday, Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, said the United Nations evacuated its entire staff from Yemen amid ongoing hostilities in the country.
On March 25, a 10-country coalition led by Saudi Arabia began launching airstrikes on Houthi positions following Hadi’s request for military support.
