MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Moscow April 6-8, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said Thursday.
“On the invitation of [Russian Foreign Minister] Sergei Lavrov, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit April 6-8,” Lukashevich said during a briefing in Moscow.
He added that the two ministers would hold talks on April 7.
In February, Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov told RIA Novosti that the April visit of the Chinese foreign minister would aim to finalize preparations for an upcoming visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow.
In May, the Chinese leader is expected to attend Victory Day celebrations in the Russian capital, marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
