ATHENS (Sputnik) – Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis will hold a meeting with US Treasury Department's administration on Monday, the Greek Finance Ministry's press service said Saturday.
"Varoufakis will meet with the US Treasury administration on Monday morning, namely with US Treasury Department's Under Secretary for International Affairs Nathan Sheets," the Greek Finance Ministry's press service told RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, the press service said Varoufakis will discuss the country's economic reforms with International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde in Washington on Sunday.
The meetings come ahead of the Athens' April 9 deadline for its next payment to the IMF.
Greece's debt to the troika of international creditors, that includes the IMF, the European Union, and the European Central Bank, stands at around $270 billion.
In February, Athens and Eurozone finance ministers agreed to extend Greece's bailout for four months in exchange for a commitment to implement a list of reforms.
