"Civilians from the Yarmouk camp were able to reach Yelda, Beibla, and Bait Sahem in Reef Dimashq [province] during the past 2 days after violent clashes in the camp," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a Facebook post.
Islamists seized about 90 percent of the camp from a rival rebel group on Saturday, where some 18,000 of Palestinian and Syrian refugees have been trapped for two years without access to food or water. Intensified clashes have killed at least 26 people there, including civilians, according to the Observatory.
In an appeal on Sunday, the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) urged all parties involved in the Yarmouk disaster to "cease hostilities that place civilians in acute danger and to withdraw immediately from civilian populated areas."
