A group of people who are not afraid to openly support Russia and its policies have risen up in Slovakia, symbolizing a fundamental change in country’s society, MP from Slovak National Party Sergeĭ Khelemendik said in an interview to ParlamentníListy.cz.
"The taboo in Slovakia has been broken. People openly expressed dissatisfaction with the NATO and support for Russia, and this will continue. I view it as a fundamental change," Khelemendik said.
Khelemendik claimed that sooner or later there will be a political union in Slovakia, which will promote the idea of withdrawal from NATO and reorientation towards Russia.
"There will be some political forces which will help Slovakia to find its way and avoid confrontation,” he said, adding that the new political movement would help Slovakia not to become a “target” in the situation, where Europe is moving towards confrontation.
