MOSCOW, April 27 (Sputnik) – Putin and incumbent President Nazarbayev held a telephone conversation after the latter was reelected on Sunday.
“The preparations for the upcoming May bilateral meeting in Moscow, as well as the multilateral events in line with the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II were discussed," the press service said.
Earlier, Nazarbayev confirmed he would attend the May 9 Victory Parade in Moscow.
Russia has invited a number of world leaders to attend the event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
Representatives from at least 25 states have agreed to attend the celebration, according to Kremlin Chief of Staff Sergei Ivanov.
In the Russian made-for-TV documentary “The President” released Sunday, Nazarbayev said that relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are on the best possible level, asserting that no two other countries in the world have such strong ties.
