The action in downtown London will start at 1 p.m. (12:00 GMT) with a seminar featuring anti-austerity group UK Uncut to share some tools for creating one’s own movement. This will be followed by another event run by several groups fighting for free education and opposing cuts.
At 5 p.m., attention will be focused on a session headed by David Beetham, author of the book titled “Unelected Oligarchy.”
Beetham is expected to talk in details about corporate and financial dominance in the country’s parliamentary system.
At 6 p.m., there will be a panel session called “How to win” which will include a range of activist groups, such as New Era For All, Disabled People Against Cuts, Save Lewisham Hospital and others.
The demonstrations are set to finish with a concert at 9 p.m.
Outside of London, Occupy Democracy campaigns are taking place in several other UK cities, including Liverpool, Brighton and Leicester.
The Occupy Democracy campaign, which was launched on May 1, is set to continue through May 10. The event is held ahead of the UK general election on May 7, to elect representatives to the 650 seats in the House of Commons.
The movement aims to build greater democracy in the country and address a number of pressing issues such as corporate control, environmental problems and others.
