MINSK (Sputnik) — Among the documents signed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping are an agreement on friendship and bilateral cooperation as well as joint declaration on further development of comprehensive strategic partnership.
An intergovernmental agreement on technical and economic assistance and a memorandum on economic cooperation were signed in the presence of the state leaders.
The sides also agreed on expanding cooperation in several areas, including military and defense, fertilizers supplies and financing of joint Chinese-Belarus industrial park.
China agreed to provide Belarus with a $1-billion loan. Minsk and Beijing also plan to double the volume of mutual trade that amounted to $4.2 billion in 2014, increasing 3.8 percent against 2013.
