MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian leadership does not see the frozen contract to buy Mistral-class warships from France as a problem issue that requires a lot of attention, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.
“As we have already said, the issue of Mistral was discussed at the recent meeting of presidents Putin and Hollande in Yerevan. At the moment, this matter is not considered to be a problem,” he told journalists.
“The key principle here is: either the ships or the money. This principle was voiced during the meeting [in Yerevan],” he said.
