BEIJING (Sputnik) — The smartphone will be marketed in China by a joint venture of Russia's Yotaphone Devices and China's JieLan Ltd.
According to JieLan, Yotaphone 2 will be available in China for 4,888 yuan ($788). The smartphone can be purchased on the Yotaphone website, Tmall Internet shopping website, and in China Unicom outlets.
Russian Ambassador in China Andrei Denisov said Chinese President Xi Jinping had become the first Yotaphone user in the country. He said the phone had been presented to the Chinese leader by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Yotaphone 2 is designed in Russia and manufactured in China. The device is using the Android OS, and promises up to 17 days of operation time, according to the official website.
The smartphone weighs 145 grams, and provides a user with up to 42 hours of talk time. The device can also be charged wirelessly.
