WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US real estate mogul Donald Trump officially announced on Tuesday that he will run for president in 2016.

“Ladies and gentlemen I am officially running for President of the United States,” Trump stated in New York.

Trump is the current chairman of The Trump Organization, Trump Plaza Associates, LLC and of Trump Atlantic City Associates.

Trump joins a crowded list of a eleven other Republican presidential hopefuls, including Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, George Pataki, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum and Jeb Bush.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 8, 2016.
