MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian missile divisions have been placed on high alert in Kamchatka for military exercises on the Pacific Coast, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Eastern Military District’s press service said Friday.
“During the field exercises, more than 400 missile service personnel will develop all-encompassing exercises from organizing security during movements to holding anti-air defense maneuvers,” the press service’s head of information, Capt. 1st Rank Roman Martov, said.
Last week, the troops of Russia's Eastern Military District took part in the second stage of Russia-China Joint Sea 2015 maritime exercises.
Earlier in June, Eastern Military District’s troops of Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense practiced camouflage activities during a field exercise.
The drills are among a series of 4,000 military exercises announced by the Russian Defense Ministry for 2015.
