MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Ukraine has made a $75-million installment payment to Russia against its $3-billion Eurobond, the Russian Finance Ministry told RIA Novosti on Monday.

“Ukraine has paid, the money hasn’t been transferred into the accounts yet, the payment is undergoing technical finalization,” the ministry said.

At the end of 2013, Russia purchased Ukraine’s sovereign debt Eurobonds worth $3 billion. Ukraine is required to repay the full amount by the end of 2015.

The deadline for the payment of $75 million was set as June 20, but, as it fell on a Saturday, Moscow did not expected the tranche to arrive until Monday.

Earlier in June, Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko said that Kiev acknowledges the $3-billion loan from Russia and treats it on a par with other outstanding Eurobonds, but plans to restructure it.
