MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Energy Ministry dismissed on Thursday Ukrainian claims that Kiev and Moscow could strike a new price deal on gas deliveries in the next two-three weeks and insisted that the offered price of $247 for the third quarter will remain unchanged.
"The price has been determined according to the formula in the contract, as for the discount [for third quarter] — our government has already decided [its amount]," the ministry's press service told RIA Novosti.
"We will assess the market situation before the beginning of the fourth quarter, see what the average price is, and could offer a different option, but for this [the third] quarter no other options are available," the press service said.
