The PMD refers to activities that may be components to an alleged secret Tehran's program to develop nuclear weapons.
"I think we can issue out a report by the end of the year on the assessment of the clarification of that issues related to possible military dimensions," Amano told reporters.
He stressed that once an agreement on the joint comprehensive plan of action is reached, "the IAEA is ready to implement the nuclear related elements when requested."
"The IAEA has intensified engagement with the P5+1 and Iran in order to make the joint comprehensive plan of action technically sound," he added.
IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano visited Iran on Wednesday in anticipation of a historic comprehensive deal expected by July 7. He outlined the clarification of PMD as one of the key areas to be resolved ahead of the extended deadline.
On Friday, Iran's deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, Tehran is ready to cooperate with the IAEA on the PMD of Iran's nuclear program.
Iran and the P5+1 group, comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, are trying to work out a deal ensuring the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program, as well as lifting the economic sanctions against Iran.
Tuesday was the deadline for the P5+1 group and Tehran to reach a deal on Iran’s nuclear program, but the negotiators have pushed out this date for another week.
