Iran Wants Nuclear Deal Announcement to Be Made in Lavrov's Presence
UFA (Sputnik) — The P5+1 group of negotiators and Tehran are almost ready to secure a full-scale comprehensive deal on the Iranian nuclear program, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.

"Currently, we have come close to the conclusion of a comprehensive agreement, and it is based on ensuring Iran's right for the peaceful development of nuclear energy, including the right to enrich uranium," Lavrov said during a press conference on the sidelines of the BRICS/SCO summits in Ufa, Russia.

The top diplomat added that he is ready to continue Vienna ministerial negotiations at any time.

In April, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries, comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, reached a breakthrough framework agreement. The deal stipulated that Iran should cut back its uranium enrichment and decrease the number of centrifuges in exchange for gradual easing of economic sanctions.

The sides have extended the initial June 30 deadline twice.
