TOKYO (Sputnik) – Four people died and 56 have sustained injuries during a typhoon in western Japan, NHK television reported Saturday.
According to the channel, people in 18 prefectures have been affected by the typhoon.
Trains on several railway lines in the Osaka prefecture are said have been suspended. The train system closures, caused by heavy rains, affected some 500,000 people.
On Thursday, typhoon Nangka made landfall in southern Japan, hitting the island of Shikoku with torrential rains and strong winds.
