"Today, three ambulance emergency response vehicles parked near the Nusaybin State Hospital, were attacked by terrorists armed with machine guns who fired at the cars and made them unfit for use," the source said.
The security situation in Turkey has deteriorated with two separate terrorist attacks occurring in the country last week.
On July 20, at least 32 people were killed and over 100 injured in a July 20 suicide bombing in the district of Suruc in the southeastern Sanliurfa Province. The site of the attack was a known meeting point for Turkish Kurds, who intended to go to Syria to restore Kobani, a city damaged in multiple battles with Islamic State (ISIL) militants.
Later in the week, two police officers were murdered in the southern Turkish city of Ceylanpinar. The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the policemen were linked to ISIL.
On Friday, the Turkish Armed Forces began attacks on ISIL positions in Syria and Northern Iraq, using heavy weaponry. On the same day, a nationwide anti-terror raid against the Islamic State group and the PKK was announced.
The number of suspects detained during the operation has already reached 1,050 people, according to the Turkish government.
