The G10 Commission of the Bundestag responsible for controlling German intelligence services is going to file a lawsuit against the current German government over a recent espionage scandal with the NSA. The Commission demanded access to BND documents containing lists of objects of surveillance, chairman of the Commission Andre Hahn told Sputnik.

The lists contain detailed information about objects on which the US was seeking to get information.

We want to see the official document of the German Intelligence Service (BND), as the Bundestag, which is responsible for monitoring activities of the intelligence services, has the right to do so, Andre Hahn said in an interview with Sputnik.

New Data on NSA Spying on Germany Shows US Hypocrisy Toward Allies
As reported by German media, the BND received special search criteria from the NSA which it used to spy on corporations and ministries in a number of European countries. The criteria were reported to include phone numbers, email domains and social network accounts.

We insist on giving us the opportunity to examine the lists, Hahn said, adding that the G10 Commission was deceived and given false information.

The NSA used sensitive information for its own purposes and tapped thousands of calls in Germany, which was, of course, illegal, Hahn stated, adding that the case requires thorough investigation.

In April, an espionage scandal erupted in Germany when local media revealed that the country's intelligence agency, the BND, had provided technical assistance to the NSA in spying on targets inside the country and throughout the European Union, including on top political figures and corporations.
