NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — The Indian Home Ministry meeting focusing on efforts to stop the advance of the Islamic State (ISIL) militant group is underway in New Delhi, sources in the ministry told Sputnik Saturday.
Indian Home Secretary LC Goyal chairs the meeting. The Indian Intelligence Bureau chief and senior police officials are also present.
The meeting focuses on possible ways to deal with a rapidly-growing ISIL propaganda, which targets young people.
The Islamic State extremist group has seized vast territories across Syria and Iraq, gaining notoriety for its brutal methods, including mass executions. The group’s affiliates also operate in North Africa, Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
