MOSCOW (Sputnik), Alexander Mosesov – On Monday, US Department of State deputy spokesperson Mark Toner told journalists that the government was reviewing a report by a monitoring group claiming that more than 450 civilians have been killed in the US-led coalition’s airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
"It’s fairly typical of the way the US operates, unless you are having pinpointed, intelligence-driven airstrikes which occasionally are done but are very, very difficult, especially in the situation when they are bombing Syria or ISIS-held Iraq, they are basically just shooting in the dark."
The US-led coalition has acknowledged only two non-combatant deaths in the course of the operation against the Islamic State.
A US-led international coalition has conducted more than 5,600 airstrikes against the Islamic State since August 2014.
