MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The two militants are originally from Germany and Austria, the US-based monitoring organization SITE Intelligence Group reported Wednesday. One threatened German Chancellor Angela Merkel as revenge for Muslims in Afghanistan, according to reports.

"Germany and Austria should definitely take those threats very seriously, unfortunately we have seen that those kind of threats are often followed by real terrorist attacks, so we cannot afford not to strengthen our national security, also by using the army to patrol at vital infrastructure all over Europe," Geert Wilders told Sputnik.

In the video, the militants also call on Austrian and German Muslims to join ISIL at the territories under the group’s control.

Moreover, the footage shows the militants executing two captives.

"We should act accordingly and tighten our security, reinstate national border control and stop the immigration from Islamic countries," Wilders added.

ISIL has occupied large areas in Syria and Iraq. The militants are notorious for multiple human rights atrocities, including executions of religious minorities and foreign hostages.

Over 720 militants, most below the age of 30, have left Germany to join Islamic State, according to July estimates by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV).
