MOSCOW (Sputnik) — At least one inmate was killed and five others were injured on Wednesday during a riot at the California State Prison Sacramento, local TV channel reported, citing the correctional facility’s authorities.
California State Prison is a male-only state prison located in the US city of Folsom.

According to KCRA, the riot erupted on Wednesday afternoon. Correctional officers were forced to use pepper spray and fire off at least twice as a warning for the rebellious prisoners, the NBC-affiliated television station said.
Several injured inmates were immediately taken to a local hospital to undergo treatment. Others got first aid at the prison's on-site medical unit, the TV channel stated.
The number of prisoners involved in the riot and the reason of the revolt is not known so far.
