The armored maneuver of the Bundeswehr in June in Brandenburg has caused severe damage to the state’s road infrastructure, estimated at around 540,000 euros, German official Kathrin Schneider stated replying to a question of another German politician Andrea Johlinge.
"Since the Bundeswehr now demonstrated that it is unable to use the roads, without making them broken, it should further use other transport routes, where it does not cause any harm", Johlinge said.
The damage is quite widespread and often "very fragmented". Several municipalities are affected, the official said.
The damage recovery is preliminary expected to be finished in 2016.
In November last year, the Bundeswehr caused heavy damage in Havelland region during its transit. The damage was estimated at around 100,000 euros.
