Russia Set to Expand Cooperation With China in Space, Food Industries
22:29 GMT 17.08.2015 (Updated: 23:23 GMT 17.08.2015) Russia plans to expand cooperation with China in such areas as space and forestry industries, as well as food products processing, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Georgy Kalmanov said in the early hours of Tuesday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to him, China’s investment in the timber industry is increasing year by year.
"Partnership [in space industry] can be useful for both parties. In addition, we must work even more closely in the timber industry," Kalmanov said in an interview with the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.

He named agriculture another promising sector for deep cooperation with China, adding that it concerned not only growing certain kinds of crops, but also the processing of products.
All these issues will be discussed in detail during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Russia's Pacific coast on September 3-5 and the Russian-Chinese Expo in the northeastern city of Harbin, China in October, he added.
