"It is of the highest importance that that information [from cameras worn on officers' uniforms] remains confidential [and] we cannot be confident that is the case at the moment. We do not know where the information is stored, we don't know who can access that information," Dromey was quoted as saying by the news outlet.
Dromey added that he would be urging Home Secretary Theresa May to make a statement in Parliament in order to "reassure the public."
According to Sky News, police cameras manufactured by the US company Taser automatically upload footage to a third-party computer cloud storage system that may possibly be unsecure.
West Yorkshire Police are currently seeking to delete all footage from the cloud storage system.
Taser has previously stated the servers the company uses are more secure than internal UK police computers.
