Colonel Farzad Fereydouni, the commander of the Kermanshah Air Defense Group, told IRNA news agency that the unknown UAV was detected by indigenous systems a few days ago.
“After detecting the drone, the air defense missile systems stepped in to shoot it down,” he said.
Fereydouni said that the downed drone was used for reconnaissance missions only.
He provided no further information on the starting point of the drone and where it was aiming to survey.
