The official added that the Quartet was of little use right now, and the international community was obliged to immediately find an alternative.
"We are communicating with the international community, including Russia, through the Arab League to revive the Palestinian issue and try to repeat the success of the P5+1 regarding our issue. The Committee of P5+1 was comprehensive about the Iran issue, and should address the problem of Palestine in a similar way, so that we can find an objective solution for the Palestinian people," Wasel Abu Yousef said.
The core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is essentially a struggle over land. Palestinians seek to create a diplomatically recognized independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, according to the frontiers that were in existence before the 1967 Six-Day War.
On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 group of mediators, comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, reached a historic agreement in the Austrian capital Vienna obliging Tehran to guarantee the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief. The final deal was preceded by lengthy talks and joint diplomatic efforts.
