MOSCOW (Sputnik) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit the eastern German town of Heidenau on Wednesday following recent clashes between local police and far-right activists there, the media reported on Tuesday.
According to The Guardian, the chancellor will meet with police officers, refugees and volunteers inside the controversial facility.
Merkel is expected to strongly condemn anti-migrant protests in the country, as the clashes in Heidenau are part of a series of incidents in which right-wing extremists have attempted to disrupt services to refugees in the country.
