On Wednesday, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Islamabad was interested in signing a free trade agreement with the bloc.
"We look forward to a meaningful relationship in the future and once we get into a free trade agreement, it will open new ways for cooperation for the Union and Pakistan, so we want to benefit from this very important organization and hope that it will be big step toward regional connectivity and regional integration," Janjua said, adding that the organization was very important for the region.
The Eurasian Economic Union, comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, is an international organization to streamline the flow of goods and services between its member countries.
More than 40 countries and international organizations, including China, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia, have expressed interest in creating a free trade area with the EEU.
