CAIRO (Sputnik) – Yemeni armed forces, supported by the troops from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, are currently fighting Houthis in the crisis-hit country.
“Soon we will celebrate a new holiday in Yemen — liberation from Houthis,” Yassin said in an exclusive interview with Sputnik.
According to the foreign minister, joint forces of the coalition and the Yemen government are “steadily moving forward.”
Saudi-led Arab coalition has been conducting airstrikes on the Houthi positions in Yemen at the request of Yemeni President-in-exile Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi since late March. In August, Saudi Arabia and the UAE started land operations in Yemen.
Over 4,000 people have died since the start of the conflict in Yemen in early 2015, according to UN data.
