MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The survey, published on Sunday by Le Figaro newspaper, revealed that only 19 percent of French voters were prepared to back the incumbent president.
The figures indicate that Hollande might find it difficult to reach the second round of the 2017 presidential elections, according to the newspaper.
According to the survey conducted by IFOP research service, Hollande’s potential political rival Marine Le Pen, the head of the right-wing National Front party, gets the support of 27 percent of French voters.
Former President Nicolas Sarkozy and former Prime Minister Alain Juppe are each at 25 percent in the poll.
The results of the survey were published on the eve of Hollande's biannual news conference, to be held on Monday, where he is expected to address the upcoming presidential elections, scheduled for April 2017, as well as the migration crisis in the European Union.
