“The registration of the trademark Kalashnikov in Russia is a historic event for our company and the start of our efforts to consolidate and protect the legendary weapons brand both in Russia and abroad,” Concern's CEO Alexey Krivoruchko said as quoted in the press release.
He added that the company was "in the process of formalizing ownership of trademarks across several key product classes throughout the world."
According to Krivoruchko, Kalashnikov will actively prosecute brand pirates attempting to illegitimately profit on the concern trademarks.
The Kalashnikov Concern, the Russia's largest manufacturer of a wide range of civil products including hunting rifles and shotguns, sporting rifles, machines and tools, exports its products to 27 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Italy, Canada, Kazakhstan and Thailand.
The concern includes 3 branded companies: Kalashnikov, Baikal and Izhmash.
