MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied on Monday any knowledge of alleged talks on exchange of imprisoned Ukrainian filmmaker and activist for two Russian nationals detained in Ukraine's conflict zone.
"I don't know anything about some kind of [exchange] talks," Peskov told reporters in Moscow commenting on recent media reports.
Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov was sentenced by a Russian military court in August to 20 years in jail for plotting to carry out terrorist attacks in Crimea. Crimean activist Alexander Kolchenko, was sentenced to 10 years on the same charges.
Russian nationals Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev were taken prisoner by Kiev-led forces near a front-line town in the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine in mid-May. They are still facing a trial.
