WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Rescuers have carried away the bodies of 16 people in the town of Hildale, Utah and in the local Zion National Park, WFLA 8 NBC reported.
Previous reports stated three people had died and four were missing amidst the flash floods that ravaged Hildale and the Zion National Park.
One person remains missing in Hildale and authorities have yet to identify the individuals who died in the flash floods.
Early reports showed at least 12 people died, but the accounts increased to 17 on Wednesday afternoon.
The flood came after the Canyon north of Hildale was struck by torrential rains.
