ATHENS (Sputnik) — Ska Keller said that a coalition of left-wing parties in the European Parliament was also showing its support for the Syriza party as the sides believed they could work together on a lot of issues in the world.
"The Greek Greens are part of the Syriza’s list, they have joined forces with Syriza, because we believe this is the way how we can also push for green politics and that’s most likely with Syriza," Keller, who represents the German Greens in the European Parliament, said ahead of the snap elections in Greece.
Greek voters will elect a new legislature on Sunday, as Alexis Tsipras, the Syriza leader, resigned from the post of prime minister in August and called for snap elections to gain support for austerity reforms he backed to keep the country in the eurozone.
