Israeli Ambassador Zvi Heifetz - Sputnik International

The Israeli government appointed diplomat Zvi Heifetz on Monday as Israel’s ambassador to Russia, according to an official statement.

TEL AVIV (Sputnik) — Heifetz previously served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2003-2007, and to Austria from 2013-2015.

"<…> the Cabinet decided to appoint Zvi Heifetz Ambassador to Russia instead of Dorit Golender, who is finishing her work there," the Israeli government stated.

Golender served as the Israeli ambassador to Russia from 2010-2015.

According to media reports, Russian-born Heifetz previously worked in Moscow in 1989 as part of a group of Israeli diplomats at the Embassy of the Netherlands.
