MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian airline Aeroflot said Friday that according to international aviation regulations, flights to a country may only be prohibited by the aviation authorities.
Aeroflot said it has yet to be officially notified of Ukraine's flight ban, vowing to return passengers money for their tickets if it had to cancel flights.
"According to international aviation regulations, flights to a country may only be prohibited by that country's aviation authorities. If and as soon as Aeroflot receives an official notification from Ukrainian aviation authorities on the cancellation of flights, the company will notify its passengers and explain the refund rules for previously purchased tickets," an Aeroflot spokesperson told RIA Novosti.
