In an interview with Radio France 2, de Villiers specifically pointed to Washington's permanent attempts to spread its political clout among EU countries.
He also made it clear that he positively assesses the policies pursued by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I approve of Vladimir Putin's policy. Today we focus on [writing] history in alliance with Russia," Philippe de Villiers was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.
Earlier, he supported President Putin's idea to create a full-fledged international anti-terrorist coalition, with Muslim countries due to become its main participants.
Earlier that day, the Russian upper house of parliament unanimously supported President Vladimir Putin's request to deploy units of the Russian Aerospace Forces abroad.
Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad confirmed, for his part, that Syrian Army strikes, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, were being carried out against armed terrorist organizations, rather than political opposition factions or civilians.
