MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A suicide bomb targeting foreign forces has been heard ripping through the Afghan capital of Kabul, local media reported Sunday.
“A suicide bomber targeted a convoy of foreign troops in central Kabul,” the TOLOnews network said, citing witnesses.
No casualties have been reported in the blast as yet.
The US-led NATO mission formally ended its International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) combat operations in Afghanistan on December 31, 2014, transitioning to a non-combat mission in the country.
Political and social turmoil continues to grip Afghanistan, with the Taliban redoubling their insurgency across the country and the Islamic State jihadist group taking advantage of instability to gain a foothold in the country.
