Moldovan Opposition to Block Parliament Demanding Officials' Resignation
CHISINAU (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, protesters blocked traffic in the central streets of the capital, parking hundreds of cars in the city center, and demanding the resignation of the country’s president Nicolae Timofti.

The press service added that the protesters could also be fined up to $1,000.

"Police authorities have recorded several violations of law by protesters, while blocking the traffic… The protesters’ actions come under the Criminal Code enactments that carry punishment of up to six years in prison," the police press service told RIA Novosti.

Since September, opposition Moldovan parties such as the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova and Our Party have been protesting the country's government. The protesters have been calling on the country’s high-ranking officials, including Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet, to resign.
