MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US airstrikes on the hospital killed 22 people, including MSF staff and 3 children, and wounded dozens more on October 3.
CODEPINK classified the attack as a war crime and called on US authorities to hold an independent investigation.
The petition called for repairing the destroyed hospital infrastructure, providing health care for the wounded and giving compensation to families of those killed or injured in the attack.
The NGO said that after the petition to the US Commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Campbell, gathered 10,000 signatures it would be brought to the Pentagon liaison office in the House of Representatives.
CODEPINK is a grassroots NGO that seeks peace and social justice, works to end US-funded wars and occupations, and to challenge militarism globally.
