VNUKOVO (Sputnik) — About 11,000 Russian tourists have returned home from Egypt in the past 24 hours, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Sunday.
"Over the last day, some 11,000 people have been taken home. Possibly today, there will be a little bit more," Dvorkovich said.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted that the entire number of Russian tourists in Egypt before the suspension of flights between the countries was estimated at about 80,000 people.
On Friday, Russia suspended its flights to Egypt until the inquiry into the Russian A321 crash in the Sinai Peninsula is over.
