MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Bogdanov held a meeting with envoys from Syria's Popular Front for Change and Liberation, the US Assyrian community and the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union party in Moscow.
"Attention was mainly devoted to an analysis of the situation in Syria… with the focus on a political and diplomatic settlement to the Syrian crisis. In this context, the sides discussed the possibility of establishing a full-fledged negotiation process between the Syrian government and a wide spectrum of the Syrian opposition," the ministry said in a statement.
On October 30, top diplomats from almost 20 countries, as well as UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, met in Vienna to discuss efforts to put an end to the ongoing Syrian conflict.
A second round of international talks on the Syrian crisis will be held in Vienna on Saturday.
